Auguste Toulmouche (21 septembre 1829 à Nantes - 16 octobre 1890 à Paris) est un peintre de genre français.
Élève de
Charles Gleyre, Toulmouche est retenu par l'histoire de l'art comme le peintre de la Parisienne : Émile Zola parlera des « délicieuses poupées de Toulmouche ». Cousin par alliance de Claude Monet, il aidera et guidera ce dernier lors de ses premières années parisiennes. Toulmouche sera un des peintres les plus célèbres du Second Empire, à peine moins connu qu'Alfred Stevens, Jean-Léon Gérôme ou William Bouguereau. Après la Guerre de 1870, sa notoriété s'effacera peu à peu, comme celle des peintres de sa génération.

Biography
Italian painter, active mainly in the Veneto.
He had a refreshingly individualistic style, carrying on the great painterly tradition of
Tintoretto and Bassano, reinforced by the example of Liss, Feti, and Strozzi, to which he added his own note of mysterious and sometimes bizarre fantasy. He painted mythological scenes and also allegorical portraits of local officials.

Biography
Dutch painter, active in Kampen, the most famous exponent of the winter landscape. He was deaf and dumb and known as `de Stomme van Kampen' (the mute of Kampen). His paintings are colourful and lively, with carefully observed
skaters, tobogganers, golfers, and pedestrians. Avercamp's work enjoyed great popularity and he sold his drawings, many of which are tinted with watercolour, as finished pictures to be pasted into the albums of collectors (an outstanding collection is at Windsor Castle).
